Reporting
TMG Reporter is the fastest and easiest way to run reports on Microsoft Forefront TMG. Our reports break information into three main areas - Bandwidth, Productivity and Firewall. Quickly answer questions such as:
- What unproductive sites has a particular user been visiting?
- What sites or applications ate all the bandwidth this month?
- What IP addresses may been affected by malware?
Head to the Reports tab to run a Company Overview or User Investigation Report. Simply enter your date range, select the user you need to report on (pulled from Active Directory) and hit Go!
Or just hover over any item in TMG Reporter's Real Time Dashboard to run a detailed report on that item.
Real Time Dashboard
When Bob from accounts calls to ask why the network is slow, our realtime dashboard will be ready with a range of live charts showing you vital statistics such as the top sites, users and applications using your network right now.
Discover at a glance the percentage of unproductive traffic, then identify those users and the sites they are browsing. TMG Reporter's dashboard will also give you real time details on what your firewall is blocking or allowing, and give you the run down on the latest malware and intrusion threats.
TMG Reporter automatically groups users into Departments by talking to Active Directory, and gives you full control over what is deemed unacceptable, unproductive, acceptable or productive browsing.
Alerts
The dashboard is a great tool when you need it, but who wants to look at charts all day? TMG Reporter's alerting system notifies you when there is something you need to know about.
Perhaps you want to know when someone has been on facebook for more than 4 hours, or when someone downloads an enormous file, or when a virus or nasty piece of malware is discovered. The Fastvue alerting system has you covered.
You can browse through all alerts using the Alerts screen, and choose to have alerts emailed to you along with all the relevant traffic details, or what we call "alert evidence".
Productivity Assessment
We realize that every organization is different and you need control over what is deemed productive and unproductive, or acceptable and unacceptable.
For example, looking up holiday sites would be deemed an unproductive use of time in most organizations, but entirely acceptable in a travel agency.
Using TMG Reporter's productivity screen, simply drag and drop TMG's list of URL categories such as Travel, Social Media, and Employment into Unacceptable, Unproductive, Acceptable or Productive. TMG Reporter then know exactly how to treat your organization’s browsing activity in Reports, Alerts, and on the Real Time Dashboard.
Active Directory Integration
TMG Reporter talks to Active Directory to learn about your organization. Your top Departments are presented in the Dashboard and in Reports, and real usernames are shown rather than the ugly domain\username format you’ve seen in most other web reports.
If you install TMG Reporter on a machine that is a domain member, it all just works. Otherwise just enter your AD server’s details on the Directory / LDAP Settings page and you’re good to go.
Report on multiple TMG Servers
TMG Reporter finally gives you a simple way to monitor and report on all your servers at once. Just install our extremely low footprint agent (we call it the Arbiter) on each TMG Server in your array, then add each TMG server as a 'Source' in TMG Reporter.
